Hulder
Washington
HULDER (led by the self-same artist) was born in 2018 within the dense landscape of the American Pacific Northwest. The hauntingly grandiose new HULDER album Verses In Oath constitutes the most majestic, untamed manifestation thus far in the band’s journey of conquest, as new territory is put to flame and conquered by sword and shield. The ancient sorrow-filled melancholy and seething spirit that are the essence of “Hearken The End” permeate the entire album, by now a fundamental detail in HULDER’s identity where roots run deep in long forgotten soil.

Ragana
Washington
Ragana is a duo whose members alternate duties on drums, guitar, and vocals to produce some of the most unique and affecting dark music in metal today. The two-piece came together in 2011 in the DIY punk scene of Olympia, WA. Held together by an intense focus on raw emotion and haunting atmospherics, Ragana shifts seamlessly from mesmerizing vocal harmonies to piercing, heart-ripping screams and back again, yielding music that is heavy, beautiful and punishing all at once.

Cinder Well
California
Cinder Well is the musical project of California-based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Amelia Baker. Characterized by her singular vocals, Baker's compositions chart a sonic journey through cinematic soundscapes, weaving surrealistic lyricism with stylistic elements inspired by traditional music, ballads and doom metal.

Alda
Washington
Alda was created by Tim Brown, Jace Bruton, Steph Bruton and Michael Korchonnoff during the Fall of 2007 in Tacoma, Washington. They have released four full-length albums of Black Metal and Dark Folk-inspired music with a thematic focus on the human relationship with death, change, and our place among the multitude of beings and landscapes that embody the living natural world.

The Keening
Oregon
The Keening is the solo music project of Rebecca Vernon, weaving a web of lush orchestration, American Gothic sensibilities and wintry murder ballads set against a backdrop of dark, shimmering folk. Vernon’s previous band SubRosa echoes in The Keening’s chamber doom, flowing with flute, strings, harp, French horn, piano, organ and hammered dulcimer. Ultra-melodic forays into haunted bogs, endless wells, secret crimes, jeweled cages and the unenviable curse of being a murder witness abound.

Aerial Ruin
Oregon
Aerial Ruin, based in Portland, Oregon is the primarily acoustic solo project of Erik Moggridge whose
“richly evocative dark folk style makes for a head-in-hand listening experience. Yes it’s dark and minimal, evoking solitude and loneliness but also magic and mesmerizing, soothing and restorative” .

L'Acephale
Oregon
L’Acéphale is a recording project and intermittent live ensemble of co-conspirators seeking illumination through the exploration of the limits of Black Metal, Musique-Concrete and the sonic beyond.
“Death, myself and the house suspended outside the world, in an empty part of space where the diaphanous smell of death intoxicates the senses, tears them and stretches them to the point of anguish...
My desire to vomit desire
No hope, Death.
The candle blown out.”
-Georges Bataille

Dunava

It is part of a broader constellation of projects, including the World Tree Center and the Fight Like An Animal podcast, uniting animist religion, science, and revolutionary ecological politics.

Carrion Empire
Oregon
Lichen-dressed towers whisper endless tales of sterile cityscapes, while the crown, stained forever in blood, holds no more value than a stone. This fading from the sovereignty of mankind to the rebalancing of nature is the backdrop to Carrion Empire. Meditative drone synths, doom-laden guitars, and baritone vocals set a sonic dirge for what was, and a welcoming hymn for the end of what is.

Andy Aquarius
Berlin, Germany
Andy Aquarius is a sonic alchemist and devotee of mystical folklore.
Being a multi-instrumentalist and exploring a wide range of genres, he laid out the path ahead with his debut album ‘Chapel’, which only features his Celtic harp and voice. The record takes you on a ‘transcendental journey through the outer realms of ambient, classical and folk music.’ (-Alex Ruder, Hush Hush/KEXP).
A follow-up to his acclaimed 2021 debut album Chapel, Golla Gorroppu reveals itself as an internal expedition of a mythological mountain range. Sounding as indomitable and spirited as the landscape it portrays, Golla Gorroppu is a wayward epic that cries for you to become the mountain goat you always dreamt to be. Through his lyrical harp expressions and gentle vocal accents, the record traverses a magical terrain full of intrigue, nuance, and beauty.
A recent string of EPs highlights Andy’s deep sense of spathe & thyme - Forest Grimoire is a collection of improvisations that were recorded right there in the forest, accompanied only by its winged residents up high. Holy Glade & Holy Rude are both results of a hermitage in an abandoned church deep in the Croatian mountains. The creation of these EPs sparked an on-going dialogue, slowly turning a temporary residency into a steadfast anchor and spiritual stronghold.
Andy’s live performances are of a peaceful simplicity and thick atmosphere, putting all the intent towards a sincere delivery of his bucolic canticles and meandering instrumentals - never truly settling down, but ghostly sculpting and modulating around an ancient and immovable bedstone.
